Ciudach

A very nasty race of vampires thought to be sent by the devil living in deep caverns around Scotland, they like to torture their prey and bleed them to death then as a game they pull apart the body and play with remains. It is a compulsion they have tried to keep under control when the race in Britain was nearly wiped out. Some travelled to escape the angry mobs but all over Europe and even in the young America it was the same.

Ciudach is specifically the name given to the ones in Scotland or the one who have come from Scotland. Edward continued to call them Ciudach no matter what their country of origin and eventually the name stuck, they referred to themselves as ‘Demon’ but had to give themselves a species name, Ciudach was becoming popular so they went with that. A lot of the recognisable Ciudach originally come from Scotland, as the Industrial revolution took place and the Highland clearances they moved with the humans to America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Ciudach are not immortal, they live and die, some resemble humans and some resemble a more nasty looking creature, they have the skill to shape-shift, though they call themselves Demon none can truly claim to have come from hell or any form of torturous realm, all have been born in this world, any that do try to make the claim are usually insane and end up getting themselves killed.

They breed like any other living creature, they are not choosey they will take what ever they can get and even better if it produces viable offspring.

They feed on tortured blood, the pain, the adrenalin and various other chemicals released in the blood as a human or other living creature is tortured gives them what they need to keep them strong. They love to play with the body parts sometimes wearing bits of people or making puppets it is enough to make one sick to the stomach.

Edward noted that once they are deprived from their tortured blood over time they become weak making it easier to kill them.

Killing them can be done in a manner of different ways, drowning, be-heading really any way that would kill a living creature. Usually a full strength Ciudach is a strong creature able to withstand a large amount of bullets, with tough skin almost amour strength they heal quickly, trying to cut off one of their heads has to be done with a large blade because a thin narrow blade gives them enough of a split second to heal the wound before the blade makes it to the other side.

Odd sub-species of Ciudach have sprung up, most likely caused by breeding with indigenousness creatures some are not sentient beings they are more animal than man.
